It’s been a month. I mean, it’s been a month since the election, but also: It’s really been quite a month.
The Trump administration is sure to be filled with privatizers, tax cutters, health and safety eliminators, and climate deniers. For ITPI, that means we need to reflect and think about what we can do to be most helpful and have the greatest impact. Our mission remains, but should our methods change?
That’s where we need your help.
Our principles remain as clear as ever: to illustrate and support the role government can and should play in our lives, all the while making sure government is ever more responsive, ever more small-d democratic.
While we have clarity of principles that will always guide our work, we also must have the flexibility to step up and meet moment.
To help us plan for 2025 – and beyond – can you take a minute and give us your thoughts on the basic questions we’re asking ourselves:
- What should we be doing in next year (yeah, a bit broad, but we’re interested in whatever comes to mind)?
- Which issues, geography, emerging trends, and so on should we pay attention to?
- Are there things we could do to help you and/or your organization?
Send an email to us at info@inthepublicinterest.org and let us know what you think the most important issues are for those who seek to keep education free and public and universal; who seek to protect the public from creeping—or not so creeping—privatization; who seek to make government work for us all.
