Public Services
Public services include a wide range of activities, so many that we tend to take
them for granted but how they are performed—and by whom—has a significant impact on quality and accountability. Public services include maintenance of public land, snow removal, fleet management, custodial services for public buildings, waste and recycling collection, public health programs, social safety net programs, emergency services, and building inspection services, operations at jail or prison facilities, and more. In the Public Interest evaluates the impacts of privatization on how those services are provided and meet the needs of the community.
